The room was silent, except for the last tinkling shard of glass to hit the floor.
Once the initial shock wore off, Kevin put his hand to his mouth, now bleeding copiously. His eyes were wide with pain and confusion.
"Umm, Jessica?" I said, as I gently pulled her back to her seat, aware of the many stares now focused on our table, "I think he said, 'That dress makes you look fab.' And I think you are just supposed to throw the drink, in any case."
