As a state, Michigan is divided. There's the upper peninsula and the lower, there's Up North and Down State, there's Wayne County and everyone else. One of the more interesting divisions is the East Coast/West Coast differences.
I thought I'd post a fun little chart to illustrate some of the differences between the two.

When all is said and done, I am very fond of both coasts. Next week, I'll post about Oscoda and it's environs. This weekend, we are headed back to Petoskey. Labor day weekend, we will spend three days just north of Oscoda, at the lovely beach where my favorite adirondack chairs are.
