Not too long ago, at the Women's Colony, Mrs. G. posed a question about her readers' favorite teachers. My answer is below:
I'm going to answer a little differently and tell you about the favorites I had of my daughter's teachers. First, Mrs. Peterson in second grade, who had a wonderful sense of humor about my daughter's ADD, and threated to rent out her seat if she wasn't in it more often. Then, Mr. Beuhner, the (gasp!) ultra-conservative 7th grade history teacher that turned her on to American government and politics, and had her coming home spouting conservative rhetoric. Yikes! it was painful at the time, and she's about a mile left of George Stephanopolous now, but what passion! I know she was a very difficult child to work with, but there were a few teachers who saw past the "weird" and saw the beauty. I think I'm going to have to post about this for her birthday, in a couple weeks. Thanks for the gift, Mrs. G.
