Jen on the Edge is hosting another Holiday Homes Tour today. My Picnik membership has run out, so I joined BigHugeLabs to make the mosaic below.
I am not a fan of winter at all, but I do love Christmas lights and all things twinkly. I'm kind of a magpie that way.
I broke a couple of many-year traditions when decorating this year. This is my first year for all-white lights, and the first year I didn't string the tree with gold garland AND red beads. It's kind of like if Las Vegas suddenly went all church-y.
These are the ornaments I totally snagged when my parents were getting rid of them. At some point, my dad decided he loved these cheesy little painted wooden ornaments, and left all the really old glass ones in the boxes in the basement.
I think some of these belonged to HIS mother. My favorite is the swan. At one point there were three, but they are really fragile, and only one survives. It has it's own box and tissue paper now. The tree is about 20 years old, and the stuff that's not ornaments is relatively new (well, new compared to the 40-80 year old ornaments).
