Keely's Playhouse
- I just love the Olympics. So you may be surprised to learn that I have not yet watched a single minute of it on TV yet. There are a few obstacles. American television sucks. CBC is not broadcasting the games. The TV is in the man-cave, which is not my preferred venue. I am a big fan of my side of the bed. Comfy, lots of pillows, warm lighting.
- I figured out that ESPN would probably be showing some stuff during the day, when it actually happens, so I hit the man-cave mid-morning, and turned on the TV.
- Two words: Morning Television. *shudder*
- Oh, yeah. Vancouver is three hours behind Detroit. There probably aren't any events going at 7:40 in the morning out there.
- Who the HELL is that Wendy person? Notice, I didn't say "woman?" I'm not sure.
- Ellen is probably fun to watch, but, no. I am just not a TV person.
- I am huge into reading, sudoku and crossword puzzles. I am about 1/3 of the way through volume 2 of Winston Churchill's history of World War II. I needed some maps of England and France, because I am reading on my Palm Pilot, and the maps are too small to decipher. There is either something wrong with my printer, or St. Patty's day is here early.
- That was set on gray scale.
- I had forgotten about What Not To Wear, Clean Sweep, and House Hunters. Any of those could turn me into a TV person. Danger, Will Robinson!
- It's snowing again today. I liked it better when the storms passed us by. This is what Weather Underground is calling "light snow."
- April really can't get here soon enough for me. Although I hate to wish time away. I still can't figure out what the hell happened to 2009.
- Back to the Olympics...Steve Yzerman is a personal hero of mine. I really want Canada to take the gold medal in hockey. Just for Steve. Here's a picture from the Detroit Free Press...
- Steve was Captain of the Wings for about 20 years. Detroit was his entire NHL experience. His number, 19, has been retired here, and he is now a VP of the Wings organization. You will never find a classier guy in professional sports, or really anywhere else, for that matter. He tried to take a little pressure off of Team Canada by telling the press that the Russians were favored to win gold. The press was kind enough not to laugh.
- That's all for this edition. Go see Keely for more.
