Spin Cycle is here:
What I Meant to Say Wednesday is here:
This week's Spin Cycle is "Pet Peeves." Having been married for nearly 25 years, most of my pet peeves have to do with Husband, whom I love very much. I decided that I haven't really been saying what I meant, so it went along perfectly with Chief's new Wednesday meme, too!
Here we go then.
What I said: Honey, please chew with your mouth closed.
What I felt like saying: Holy crap, you are 46 years old! Will you never learn to chew with your mouth closed??? Or are you doing it just to piss me off?
What I meant to say was: I am so grateful that one of us is responsible enough to hold down a full-time job and put food on the table. Thank you for providing so well for us.
What I said: Sweetie, your voice really carries. I'm sitting right here, so you can be a little quieter.
What I felt like saying: Jeebus! My head is already pounding, can you take it down to jet-engine level?
What I meant to say was: I am so proud of the work you have been doing on The Odd Couple. This is the stage role of a lifetime for you, and your voice is perfect for the theater!
What I said: Is there somewhere I can move this stack of paperwork, since we are having company?
What I felt like saying: If we wait long enough, we won't need to ever file this stuff right? Straight to the shredder, is that the plan?
What I meant to say was: Bless you for handling the bill-paying, on top of your other responsibilities. You KNOW I stress out like a maniac when I attempt to take care of it, so I appreciate you taking that on.
