I was inspired to go thrifting this afternoon, and I was looking for something eyepopping. I didn't find what I was looking for specifically, but I did find some cool things...
Clothing first.
I love to layer clothes, but get too warm when I do so. Here's a solution, I can wear this pretty periwinkle lacy-knit sweater over a white camisole or fitted t-shirt. $2.99.
I usually avoid empire waists, because I don't want to look pregnant, but I figure at 3.99, what have I got to lose? Plus I love the chocolate brown/mint blue combo.
Now, for the eyepopper I did find is this silk tunic. There is a very large Indian and middle eastern population where I live, and this tunic looks as though it was hand embroidered, and never worn. I just love the tie-dye look of the pink and green together.
Now, the number 2 coolest find...
This gorgeous brooch was $3.99. I have a chocolate brown skirt and a robin's egg blue top I want to wear it with. I would love to find a coordinating (or contrasting) scarf to pin on one shoulder with this pin!
And now, the number one find of the day...
A set of eight mint-condition cocktail glasses, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average from 1958 to 1968 laid out by month. The gold band at the top is the list of all the DJIA stock symbols, and all that detail? Well, look...
All of the significant cultural and political events that affected the Dow-Jones during those years. $2.99 for all eight of them, people.
The scale on the Y-axis of that graph is the Dow-Jones average price, and the topmost figure is one thousand. Wow.
