It's time for another Random Tuesday! And the reason I have time to do this is that my shift was called off at work today, owing to the rain. Yay! I love my job, but it exhausts me.
So, instead of working today, I will be re-covering the kitchen corner booth from 20-year-old Partly Cloudy's new house. So far, I have painted three rooms there, two bedrooms and the kitchen. The bathroom is next, and the living/dining room. That's how I will be resting on my day off. Something is a little off there, I just don't know what.
Last night, I dreamed I was a homeless person. Not to worry, though. I had found a BOX. And my box was all I needed. At one point, the cops were questioning me and my sanity, but I told them I was a good friend of Captain Dumbass, and that seemed to calm their fears.
My Tigers have won their two most recent series, 3-1 vs. the Yankers, and 2-1 vs. the Red Sox. Beating the Red Sox is always nice, but beating the Yankers? That gives me a girlie-woody. Heh.
My Red Wings didn't survive the second round of the playoffs. I was counting on the Canucks to take out Chicago, but they failed, sadly. I will not be surprised to see the Blackhawks go to the finals. In any case, I am now rooting for Club de Hockey Canadien. La Coupe Stanley (which is female, apparently, to the French-speaking Quebecois) has not been won by a Canadian team since Montreal won it 17 years ago. It's time.
Now that the Caps (Ovechkin) and the Pens (Crosby) are out, the network announcers won't know who to spend all their time talking about. Major networks really know bupkis about hockey. Thank goodness we get the CBC here. Remember, every night is Hockey Night in Canada!
Considering the amount of time I spend discussing sports, you'd think I would have some aptitude PLAYING a sport. ANY sport. But no. I am a passable bowler, an inept golfer, and I used to play softball. I was a decent catcher, and a lousy hitter. Zero upper body strength. Tried and enjoyed martial arts, but repetitive movement of any kind is just a killer for my back.
And on that happy note, it's time to post....go visit Keely for more random stuff!
