The rapid decrease in daylight hours is playing havoc with my world. I have been sleeping like a teenager lately, and I'm not sure why.
Work has been going really well, with two huge deadlines just successfully met within the last week or so. I am learning new things all the time, which is very exciting! We had a September 1st deadline on a grant narrative that I helped put together in two days! Eek! We thought someone else was drafting this document, but wires were crossed, and when we heard from him on the 30th of August (!) almost nothing had yet been put together. So. I worked with the senior curator and in two days, we put together the necessary text and evidence of what we had used the big bucks for, Boss Lady tweaked it, and away it went.
Willy Wonka: The suspense is terrible...I hope it'll last.
That's a pretty good recap of the last ten days.
Other than the distinct lack of energy, I am loving the cooler temperatures and occasional overcast days. I know that, come March, I'll be begging for sunshine, but right now, the relief from this long, hot summer has been very welcome. I'm seeing color change coming, even as far south in Michigan as we are. I think that when the trees are stressed from long, very hot days, it affects the color change.
One recent sign of changing weather...the low angle of the sun I drive into in the morning. I have realized that my windshield is in desperate need of cleaning, and it's one of the jobs I hate the most. I have a big car, which means I have a big windshield. Unfortunately, I do not have very long arms, so there's lots of stretching (and accompanying cussing) involved. Time for me to get to work...
